Toronto Raptors center Jakob Poeltl remains without a timeline to return as he recovers from a strained lower back, the team announced Sunday.

Poeltl, who has been sidelined since Dec. 21, returned to Toronto to receive what the team labeled as targeted pain relief treatment. The Raptors said the 30-year-old Austrian's status will be updated when he returns to practice.

Poeltl has averaged 9.7 points and 7.7 rebounds in 21 games this season.

He is coming off a career season in 2024-25 with personal bests in points (14.5), rebounds (9.6) and steals (1.2) per game. The 7-footer added averages of 2.8 assists and 1.2 blocks.

He has averaged 9.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 blocks per contest across 616 career games (362 starts) with the San Antonio Spurs and Raptors. He was selected by Toronto with the ninth overall pick of the 2016 NBA Draft out of Utah.
