Eagles sign veteran TE Richard Rodgers to practice squad

The Philadelphia Eagles signed tight end Richard Rodgers to the practice squad, one of four roster moves by the team on Wednesday.

The Eagles also activated the 21-day practice windows for two players returning from injured reserve -- tight end Tyree Jackson and safety K'Von Wallace -- and released tackle Casey Tucker from the practice squad.

Rodgers, 29, played in 22 games over three seasons with the Eagles from 2018-20. He has 145 career receptions for 1,518 yards and 15 touchdowns in 85 games (28 starts) with the Green Bay Packers (2014-17) and Eagles.

His signing raises questions about starting tight end Dallas Goedert's availability for Sunday's game against the host Las Vegas Raiders.

Goedert has been on the reserve/COVID-19 list since Oct. 12 and did not play in last Thursday night's 28-22 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Undrafted rookie Jack Stoll is currently the only tight end on the active 53-man roster, with the Eagles having traded Zach Ertz to the Arizona Cardinals on Friday.

Jackson, also an undrafted rookie, landed on IR in mid-August after sustaining a fractured bone in his back.

Wallace has six tackles in three games (two starts) this season. He was placed on IR on Sept. 28 with a separated shoulder.
