Texas coach Shaka Smart announced Monday that he tested positive for COVID-19 and is away from the team.
"I tested positive for COVID and am in isolation away from our team and my family," Smart, 43, tweeted. "I am working remotely and look forward to rejoining our team in person when it is safe to do so."
The Longhorns (11-2, 5-1 Big 12) are ranked No. 5 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, released Monday. The school did not announce who will fill in for Smart when Texas hosts Oklahoma on Tuesday or whether the game would still be played.
Texas' past two games were postponed because of COVID-19 issues among their opponents, first Iowa State and then TCU.
Jamie Dixon, TCU's head coach, announced last week he tested positive for the virus.
