Sophomore forward Joel Ntambwe is leaving Texas Tech after three games, coach Chris Beard announced Tuesday.
Ntambwe began his college career in the 2018-19 season at UNLV, averaging 11.8 points and 5.5 rebounds in 31 games for the Runnin' Rebels. He transferred to Texas Tech in May 2019 and sat out last season under NCAA rules.
For Texas Tech (2-1), the 6-foot-8 Ntambwe played 41 total minutes off the bench. He averaged 4.7 points and 3.7 rebounds.
"We appreciate Joel's contributions to our basketball program," Beard said. "We wish Joel the best in his future. I'll personally be pulling for him to succeed in his next step."
