Houston lost most manufacturing jobs in the nation in 2016

Harris County lost 18,900 manufacturing jobs, largely tied to the energy industry, which ranked the county No. 1 in the U.S. for manufacturing job losses in 2016.

Meanwhile, Montgomery County in The Woodlands lost 2,100 jobs in 2016, ranking No. 6 for more jobs lost. The data is from Austin-based Headlight Data's analysis of information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
